I've discovered a mistake in the movie. After de Xerxer's army shoots their arrows, that blocks the sun, when the Spartans recover, they have the arrows in the shields, after that, few seconds later, the arrows disappear.
I thought it was alright, the way in which it ended was too predictable - I don't mean how the story ended, just the way the movie ended. I think that could've been done better.
The visuals were pretty awesome, I think those are the definite highlight of the movie. Worth seeing for sure
You don't know what you are talking about, the big Spartan army that you see at the end of the movie made a huge victory over Persians who evacuated Greece, leaving behind their plans to conquer Greece after their defeat from an army less than 5% of their size.
Go and read some history not only comics of cartoons, to see that the sacrifice of the 300 was not pointless; indeed it helped the rest of the Greeks and the remaining Spartans to get organized and eventually defeat the huge Persian army, sending them back home.
Not according to what I have read. The Persians were defeated later on by Athens in a naval battle, but the army lead by Spartans did lose eventually at the pass.
Did I at any point claim otherwise? I only said that if the movie had continued from the point it ended, we would have seen the Spartan lead army losing the pass to Persians.Quote:

Perhaps you should follow your own advice.
Quote:
The Persians succeeded in taking the pass but sustained heavy losses, extremely disproportionate to those of the Greeks. The fierce resistance of the Spartan-led army offered Athens the invaluable time to prepare for a decisive naval battle that would come to determine the outcome of the war.

You guys are looking in to this too much. It was a fictional story, based on an actual event.
I too think you are wrong. The film is about the Battle of Thermopylae which the Spartans eventually lost. The battle we see about to commence at the end was the Battle of Plataea which the combined Greek forces won.

Not to be nasty or anything but I'd advise reading the sources you quote to people.Quote:
Dilios finishes his tale of the 300 on a new battlefield surrounded by raptly listening soldiers. He concludes that the Persian army, who defeated a mere 300 Spartans a year earlier with great difficulty, must now be terrified to face 10,000 Spartans and 30,000 Greeks from the other city-states. The roused Greek host heads off to fight the Persian army, beginning the Battle of Plataea.
