That is the dumbest thing ive heard even dj`s who uses cd decks uses mp3 in 320kbps.

My ear can hear the difference but a good 320kbps conversion doesn't bother me much. I am a complete audiophile so your probably right, I have a real fine tuned ear.

Even my ipod has about 90% flac rips on it, and around 10% 320

I think it's called the placebo effect.

There are no real differences perceptible to human ears past 192, let alone from 320 to FLAC.

Maybe not on a an ipod headset lol, but on a good 2 channel setup I can. The louder the music is the more you can hear the difference.
Especially on poor conversions as you start to get distortion or other bad interference.

I had my friends test me before and I could determine their mp3 music to my flac. :music:

i hear the difference with my Elipson Melodine speakers and my Sansui AU-5900 amplifier... i doubt you do with your ipod and your crappy headphones.
anyhow, you're definitely not an audiophile.

I use my ipod playing flac through a line out through a protected gold plated cable 3.5mm to R Y I made myself to my sunfire ultimate receiver receiver going to two vintage Thiel cs2's, Also using some custom cables I ordered from some guy off hydrogenaudio.

I'll post a picture of my rig in a bit.

My music of choice is death metal, and classic rock. The setup wasn't intended for trance :p, although it doesn't sound bad.
