my oppinion is that they are lying , at least a bit .. That's a preety big number and it's kinda hard to believe . One thing they might have done is mistake our internet speed as cheating ( a friend of mine got disable twice on xnt.nu because they tought he was cheating and he was only uploading with 12mb/s which is his upload speed . They latter appologized and said that they just did not believe that Romania has such a great internet connection ) . I'm just saying that could be the case here ...
Why should they lie? It's their tracker, they could just introduce a country ban without giving any details like they did. The simple fact that so many trackers have the same few countries banned is at least an indicator for a very real overrepresentation of dodgy users from those countries. I have no reason to question their numbers, especially since it seems like DH introduced the country ban rather reluctantly, and much later than most other trackers did.
And 12MB/s and more upstream is no issue for the trackers whatsoever, it's not like Romania is the only country with fast internet access. What about Scandinavia, Japan or South Korea? Why are those countries not banned?
Those countryes are not banned because they are not looked at as a "globaly banned country" . It's kinda easy to ban a country when you see everyone is doing it and if you don't ban them you start to wonder , " oh if the rest have banned them maybe we should keep an eye on them to see if they are cheating " . At least that's my oppinion .

So you're basically saying that all those siteops are mindless idiots without their own opinions? I say it's a hell lot more likely that there are good reasons for siteops to even consider such country bans. Even I would be in favour of such a ban if over 90% of the users from a specific country were up to no good like in this case.
and with a memberbase of about 5, scenebits is raking the users in isnt it, pre times mean sod all, its the leecher and user base that matters, pre times make you blind.Quote:
