But not so good at understanding that one of the fundamental reasons behind people getting old, is that they have birthdays every year, and so the numbers automatically increase over time. You know like the effect inflation has upon the cost of things.

Pretty sure getting old has nothing at all to do with a societal convention called 'birthdays'. You should think through your statements.

My wife hasn't left me unfortunately, the woman who left me was a friend (at least that's what I thought) and as to why she left me I have absolutely no idea. Why would anyone take a friendship thay say is important to them and behave as she did with it. I suspect that's something I will never have any explanation for or understanding of :( Women are baffling creatures of the highest order.

Presumably you say that about your wife because she still lives with you. But your friend never lived with you.
