A question to people who use private trackers sites

If you adopt this tactic most sites will shitcan you because it can make seeders think more people are seeding all the files than are and they drop off. If you think about it - it is a piss poor idea. I did it myself for a while but warnings were sent out.

Find torrents with few seeders and many leechers - porn is a good bet. Even if you don't want it it helps your ratio.

Well like i said i just fix my ratio or get a ratio period so i wont get disabled for not being at a site all the time i rarely seed to more than 2-3 trackers at a time this is mainly a way to stay a member of these sites instead of getting banned for being inactive.This is my temporary fix until i have time to really get involved in a new site and really upload and seed things,better that than getting banned when you know you could have stayed there like this and then participate later. :rolleyes:

Can't see this being in the spirit of filesharing, what would happen to torrents if we all followed this practice?


As for the original post;
I stick with 5 main sites, TD, TL, Pisexy, Filelist and Torrentit, for anything else I use mini/newnova, Isohunt or Torrentspy(and Empornium!:naughty: ).
It's not always easy to keep a good ratio when a lot of good films come out at the same time, so when the scene goes quiet I try to upload at least 4.5gb extra to each site, this way I rarely drop below 1.0.:)

I have to agree with dodgy368. The consequences of this are that the site will show you as a seed and the genuine seeds may delete their files thinking that there is still one seed. Not really fair to the people still downloading and will never reach 100%.

On some sites this is regarded as cheating and means an automatic ban. In addition your details may be passed to other private sites - is it worth it!

There is another way to get your ratio up on a private site. Find a download that's popular, get it from say torrentspy or another public site, then once its downloaded get the torrent for the same file from the private site. Anything you then seed is all profit on the private site.

I'm a member on 12 sites by the way and have a ratio of at least 1:1 on 11 of them with a 1mb connection so it can be done. Just have to limit your downloading and always max your upload.

i just use TB, am always 20Gb ahead of what i downloaded(20Gb upload ahead).
using more then one private tracker is a headache.
so i use all my power on one site, but its always better to have an alternative or backup site incase one goes down, like i had Elite torrent account beside TorrentBite with sample ratio(i uploaded a single file to maintain my ratio and visited the site once in a while so my account wouldnt be deleted).

thank you for saying that...a lot of sites get pissed if you do that. just seed and be patient.

I just seed as much as i can, and jump on torrents with lots of peers and share my accounts with 3 of my friends, i have poweruser on 5 sites and am a member of 5 more that way, it only works of course if you all understand the principles of how private torrent sites work, and you trust them obviously, but with the uks crappy upload speeds, its about the only way to make it work.

I just seed all day long to keep my ratio good :)
