My adapter just died

Do you smell any burning coming from inside the adaptor?

Also if it's your speakers you could try turning off the MIC in sound options, usually even if you dont have a mic plugged in it pics up noise from your har ddrive or something else (magnetic waves? :unsure:).

nope, no burning. I can only hear the sound when I put the pack up to my ear. Other than that I don't hear it. The laptop is like 5 years old...an HP. I want to get a new laptop, but I'm not gonna buy a cheap one just to have it. If/when I get a new one I want it to be a good one. You have to spend more than 1000 dollars to get a machine that is going to be fast enough...and not too heavy.

My adapter just died - 20V + 4.7A
