my favourite sport in the winter olympics, is the speed skating.
One thing people forget is that the US is a huge country so the pool to pick the best in our given country is bigger.
We didn't have that in the last Olympics and World Championships for basketball.
If Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Shaq, etc. had played it'd have been no contest.
Kobe is playing in 2008 (among other elite players). Our basketball program will never take that hit again.

Oh yes.
Even though I don't like the Winter Olympics I guess I'll be watching it anyway.
I'll still have 2 weeks left before going back to work.
Re: Winter Olympics 2006 Torino, Italy
I wonder if we will even win a bronze?? we suck at it with the seasons the wrong way around with training and stuff
the only gold medal we got was a fluke because the rest fell down and broke down on speed skating was quit funny
Re: Winter Olympics 2006 Torino, Italy
Games opening today.
I think I'll watch some hockey atleast.
There was a Total Fuckup in Finland some years back,
finnish skiers won some medals but whoopsidoo on the test the cup
melted of teh pish. Gettin caught Big Time.
Now they got some "scandals" about rigged football games
in our national league and im thinkin, whats next?
Personally, I think there's a lot of money to be saved in allowing teh steroids.
It could be teh funneh watching how absurd it could be.
:D

I do sincerely hope our couch-bound convalescent is coping with his inclination to hate the Winter Games, though I'm sure if he gets too bored, he can watch his tivo-ed soap-operas or something. :)
