I bought a 42" Samsung LCD about 2 months ago. I'm not willing to fork over $600 for a game console though.

I'll give PS3 a year or two, then I'll buy it. I just don't play many games. I might get involved with one new game per year.

Well I want the LCD HDTV just as my computer monitor/TV. I'll never get a monitor or TV just for gaming. I don't play'em that much (I should though).

If I get that 32" widescreen, I'll have

a nice monitor for computing
a nice screen for computer games
a nice office TV
a nice spot to chill (I have a futon in there)

Hell I wouldn't even bother with burning all my downloads to disc. I'll watch the stuff in the office from time to time.:)

I play all my console game (when I do play them) on a 65" HDTV in the basement. I still have to pay for the fucking thing.:dry:

Right now it has deferred interest of about $1200. That's if I don't pay the entire thing off by January.:pinch:

Not really, they've been releasing trailers that show little or no actual gameplay graphics for years now. Remember Final Fantasy 8? I'm not so easily impressed, whether it be trailers showing ingame movies or the minor improvement you get from a HDTV.

I agree! The graphics look shitty but i guess on wii they invested on game-play. Imagine how it would feel if you aim and shot manually, it takes shooting skill to another level.

But i'm still not going for wii.. i prefer the graphics!

But surely even the Gamecube could look nicer than that. Original Xbox Far Cry wasn't quite at PC standards but it wasn't far off.

I just hope they're very early shots and are still to be much improved...

I do think it'll be fun tho, FPS is the only style I can see the Wiimote being really good to use.
