what does mon the hoops mean?
it means c'mon celtic.
Their official nickname is The Bhoys isn't it,is The Hoops also an official one or just an affectionate one.
t'hoops stems from the green and white hoops on their shirts, not bands, stripes or anything else.
Bhoys is really something you see more in papers now, at least as far as I'm aware. Tho' you do hear it sometimes.
Fans are more lkely to say Sellick or The Hoops.
I don't know about in Edinburro tho'.
The name Celtic was chosen to reflect that it was a Scottish club, but with Irish roots. The more common way of saying it is "Keltic" however they decided to use "Seltic" to distinguish the name from the more commonly used version of the word. I am given to understand "Seltic" is an acceptable, but rarely used alternative.
For if you know the history ...
we don't care what the animals sing.
What the hell do we care.
People always tell me its pronounced keltic but I still say celtic.
