This subject is really personal taste.............my favourite guitarist is Alan Holdsworth, went to see him in a pub called the Victoria in Nottingham,UK.....totally awesome!!!! B)

Brian Setzer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Y.Malmsteen, Ritchie Blackmore, Paul Gilbert, Michael Schenker (MSG), James Hetfield, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Tony McAlpine, Mark Knopfler, Chris Rea, Gary Moore, and of course, Van Halen... and some Finnish guiatr Players like Timo Tolkki (Starovarius) Timo Nikki (Peer Günt) Albert Järvinen (Hurriganes) + there's more but i cant remember the names at the moment...

And here's some other artists i've been listening a lot lately:
Johan Reinholdz (Andromeda), Danny Gatton (with Joey DeFrancesco), Bjørn Berge (he plays nice acoustic blues with slide)...
