No way. Screw that.
She must live in the warm part of town.
On the south side it's been in the minus
double digits the past few nights and hasn't broken into the teens during the day.
"Screw that" is exactly how I feel, too.
I'm enjoying balmy 7F temps. :)
You guys should all be aware that by complaining, you are only aggravating the, um, global warming problem.
Do your part and STFU. :D

I'm not disputing that fact, you fucking retard, I'm disputing the other thing you said. The "rock salt will do the opposite" garbage.

It's not garbage you idiot. Rock salt melts ice. Are you actually disputing that?

That says it all. 24 degrees is colder than freezing yet the salt water is just starting to freeze.
So it would also melt ice at 25 degrees F.

Agreed. El Nino has nothing at all to do with global warming and since it's warm as fuck up here there shouldn't be weird coolness elsewhere.
It should be warm across the board and stuff.

No I'm not disputing that you prat. salt melts the ice because when dissolved in water it lowers the freezing temperature of water. Regardless of whether it's rock salt or any other sort of salt. :frusty:
In fact, anything dissolved in water lowers the freezing temperature of water.
This is really basic stuff, skizo. :idunno:

I always found it strange that table salt will make ice water, or slush even colder, but rock salt will do the opposite.
When I said I don't know how you guys do it, I wasn't being literal. :P
I just couldn't live in weather like that. It's just miserable. It's only like 28 here and it sucks - too cold to do anything.

The pics were beautiful though. :O
Its this statement that don't make sense, salt melts ice, wether rock or table.

I know but it's not my choice. They spread that shit everywhere.
The best defense is to oil spray the car yearly or, for the very finicky, put it in storage for the winter.

In upstate Michigan where my brother lives it's very common for folks to buy a beater car just for winter.
Get it cheap, make sure it has snow tires and just run it till it rusts out from under you.
Or drive a snowmobile.
I was amazed to see how busy his carwashes were in the winter months...people were washing nearly everyday day, trying to mitigate the effects of the road salt.
