As far as the minimum wage goes an increase in the minimum wage causes unemployment. Its simple economics it puts in an artificial price floor which throws off the balance of supply and demand. The increase will help some who make minimum wage, but it will also cause some of the to lose or not be able to find jobs.

It's a compelling theory but not born out in practice.

We've been through this before, all the states that increased the minimum wage on their own saw an increase in jobs and growth in their local domestic product exceeding that of the states that did not raise it.
