HD noob question !

Why are all of the HD rips I have seen from a 1080p source 720p? Surely, people are going to have to re-download the 1080p rip when it becomes available. Admittedly 1080p is more difficult to play back but when I build a new system, 1080p is what I am going to be aiming for.

am looking for The Matrix Revolutions ..like the thor's version (1280x720 ,dvd5 size ) of the matrix and the matrix reloaded ... but cant find anywhere .. i have already tried revtt ,tl and bit-hdtv ...

thor doesnt have the matrix revolutions ?? :unsure:
