use google to find your answer, to find an exact saying:
"put it in quotes"
pci slots are slots on your motherboard.
they can be used for many things, for example graphics cards (although nearly all new graphics cards use the agp slot), modems, exhaust fans...

google is an essential resource for pretty much everything you'd ever want to know more about :)
