Yep, but as you will read above... I have a Linux box.
well in case anyone ever has this problem... here was my solution:
Xorg was installed on this VPS causing VNC to not work. I had to add repositories to the sources list of /etc/apt/
namely :
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian sarge main contrib non-free
and
deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian sarge main contrib non-free
then do an apt-get update
then install xorg with apt-get install xserver-xorg-core xorg.
Thanks to Artemis for the hint
I suspected it was a Debian Sarge install you had on your server, I had the same problem configuring a Vectoral Server for a friend, and discovered that xorg wasn't configured on that distribution too,I also had a lot of fun getting Wine to act normally under Sarge, but got there eventually (I had to tell wine to make its virtual drive). After doing this quite a bit myself I definitely recommend Fedora Core over Debian for use on a seedbox server, it takes alot more knowledge to get a Deb based server running correctly .
Yes you need Debian I suppose
If still no success ask them to install VNC for you
if Server is Virtuozzo based ( the ones from rabtor )
if it is from Rabtor + then they are VMware based as far i've notice and they work just perfect you just need Debian and it will fly :)
I had similar problem long times a go :)
chears
when i try to install xorg i get this : Read error - read (21 Is a directory)
Reading package lists...
it says this no mater what i try what the hell am i doing wrong
