Yes you do lose files. Every file on the drive as a matter of fact. :lol: If you couldn't upgrade to Windows ME. I doubt you can upgrade with Windows 98 SE. You might be able to and worth trying but if it dont work you will need to backup all your important files onto cds and do a reformat.
I think the Windows 98se file is an upgrade file for 95/98 by the looks of it so would not need to uninstall my Win 98 just upgrade it.
I dunno hw to reformat so won't do it. Could fuck my pc up totally.

Upgrade Operating System From Full Version...
Rename win.com to something like win.old. When installation begins if prompted, change directory from C:\Windows.000 to C:\Windows.
Well now ot my next problem where is win.com file
