That's kinda what I've been doing now anyway, limiting the download speed, by limiting the global connections. To obviate the problem with the modem. Seems to be working fine so far.

I just let usenet go as fast as fuck tho' that doesn't seem to annoy the modem, just uTorrent.

Use azureus or do something else.

I tried to but it came up with some azureus vuse pish which just annoyed me.
