There isn't a way. that's why I said it's best to use a pattern and set it to tile.

Er, wait a sec.... what do you mean by "secondary"?

as you saw in my profile i put an image for liv
i was trying to put another image for the secondary areas but no good
if you looked at my profile you will see that liv's pic invaded all the areas in my profile
though, i set it only for main content areas and it was set vertical only .
