Re: Advice on the HTPC build
Is it always the case that all the money goes straight into the case?

Not for me :P
I'd use this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147056
Free Shipping + 4x 3.5" bays. Sure as hell not a looker, but it gets the job done.

I'd perfer it also, but I'm not willing to spend $400+ on a case unless it's a Lian-Li.
Re: Advice on the HTPC build
oh now don't be one of those Lian Li snobs. I saved up the cash and I wanted it to have some style. I figured if I was going to spend some money anyway why not go big and so I did :)
Re: Advice on the HTPC build
I wouldn't spend $400 on ANY LL case- I think they're slavishly overrated.
Re: Advice on the HTPC build
And that dear sir is why you da man :)
Re: Advice on the HTPC build
That is a really awesome looking case although $500 seems a little overpriced. I've always wondered though, what is the advantage of using of Home Theater PC?
Re: Advice on the HTPC build
It looks cool in my living room with my TV. I like it to play Blue Ray movies and if I were to buy a Blue Ray player that would be around $400-$500 anyway so I look at it as I'm getting more for my money. It is now replacing my DVD player, stereo and will soon replace the cable box as well :) I will only have this in my setup next to my 42" LCD HDTV. Not to mention when people come over I enjoy the when they ask what's That?
