Shin pads would be pretty useless, you'd want knee or elbow pads.

Does that mean it's safe for me to stop wearin em???
Actually judgin by the fact that the focus designers have covered most of the safety angles they have probably already included some kind of shin protection of an airbag type nature technology type thing...
