I just tried to recreate the conversion I have done a couple times in the past and was unable. Googling around a bit it seems that have removed the ability. I guess they want you to actually buy the stuff from iTunes. :dabs:
What I did found while looking for alternatives was what seemed to me the best solution:
You'll need the perian codec.

For video conversion you'll need iSquint (http://www.isquint.org/). It's free.
Or even better, steal a copy of VisualHub (http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/).
