I think you mean VLB (Vesa Local Bus).

If you think that looks like a PCI slot added onto an ISA slot, well that's exactly what it is, although the pin connections are different. It is a 32 bit interface running at the processor's external (ie before multipliers) speed, and is connected directly to the processor.
While I am here, I may as well talk about MCA or micro-channel architecture. Sorry, can't find a picture.
It was developed by IBM, and was a 10MHz 32-bit bus. Unfortunately, it was incompatible with ISA architecture, and was also proprietary to IBM, so there was very little uptake by other manufacturers. Since it was only slightly faster than EISA, which was backwards compatible with ISA, this architecture soon died in the pc market, although IBM continued to use it for it's RS6000 series of mini-computers, probably to stop end-users buying cheap pc components.

ISA really doesn't appear on the spot for newer components, PCI (64-Bit) has taken its place, as it offers, a larger amount of streaming bandwidth.

next time try

If every one used google when they had a hardware problem, Hardware world would be dead. [/b][/quote]
Nah, we'd still be in here arguing over AMD vs Intel.

Thank you very much for that information, I am sorry if I make bad questions but I am new in this kind of things.
Thank you to all people that answer me.

Sorry mate. pissing you of wasnt my intention.

Foreal....if he asks a question answer it...its a way to get your post up (if thats what you want) and can also provide alot of information to others. I use Hardware World not only for asking my own question, but if im looking around and see a quesiton someone else asks i might say to myself "wow id really like to know that also" I have learned the statitics for these slots and im happy about that! thanx for the good question
