The main problem is that if you have a movie where the main character is suppose to be an all powerful super-agent killing machine the actor playing the role should at least be the tiniest bit believable in the part.
I mean even with an old ,fat Steven Seagal somewhere deep down in the recesses of my mind I get a feeling that given the right circumstances like if I was drunk enough or sick enough or unconscious or something he would have maybe a 20/80 50/50 shot of kicking my ass.I get none of that from Travolta .
The only fear with him I get is that if I'm not alert he might steal my royale with cheese or attempt to kiss me.

Oh come on ppl,its been a while since we had a good action film. There are barely five counting from fall last year.
I do agree though, travolta's role comes off as trying to be somebody else in this and many other films.

Just saw the R5 and it was decent one,not the best action movie out there but certainly no the worst either.

John Travolta's acting is very visceral. His performances have a way of demanding the viewers attention.
His acting ability, as far as his emotional portrayal, is lacking and nowhere near the caliber of actors like Leonardo Dicaprio.
This movie as a whole drove me to write a review on IMDB.

I'll ignore the whole JT debate on whether he's good/bad (I think he's pretty darn awful, just for honesty's sake) but I'll say this: There's a time in every actor's life when he should just quit and realize he's become too old for it. JT should understand that time is now. It's very clear that directors have to accommodate for his horrible physique/reactions to still make him look good.
For example, go through that trailer. At any given time when it's focused on JT, hit the pause button. Judge his posture. That is not the posture of the ultimate badass assassination machine. Directors have to fix that by shooting from narrower angles/faster sequences, which forces the entire movie to be that way.
Summary: He should just quit, already.
