Nic's Conflict?

i actually got a switch already...but i dont wanna have to put it :D

but yea...i guess your solution is simple.... but are the cables i need straight or crossover for using the switch with one card?

dude - ur nuts fer usin ics when u have a router! take the load off yer pc and put it on the router.

never said i had a router...i have a switch.... last time i checked switch isnt router ;)

either way....how do i configure MY computer to access the internet thru the switch?

same way u did b4. what kind of i-net connection do u have? if high speed - bind 2 ip's 2 the server's nic - 1 on the WAN side and 1 fer ur LAN side.

assign ur server's nic 2 ip addresses. what kinda i-net connection do u have?

i have cable....how do u assign 2 ips to ONE card?

depending on ur os (i'll assume xp) - right click ur network neighborhood icon on ur desktop, or go "network connections" in the control panel. right click local area connection, then properties. rigth click tcp/ip and go 2 properties. click the advanced tab and add another ip address.

this is assuming u DON'T get ur ip address from ur cable modem via DHCP (dynamic host configuration protocol).
