Recently I've had a bunch of different HDD's that came with the jumper. Seagate Hitachi, WD. I don't have a preference when it comes to HDD brands really so I use whatever is cheap with a decent newegg rating. I don't think he would need a manual just if it looks like the pic below take this jumper off :)
