With all due respect, I consider myself a power user when it comes to mp3s/WMP9 for XP. The newest WMP is fantastic. It even burns on the fly without any other separate burning program.
On a side note, regarding the DRM thing, this isn't new. It has been implemented in WMP since version 7.
Why do people keep complaining about uninstalling this program? From time to time I load software that I don't like. When this happens, I just don't use it. Why is everyone so concerned with 'uninstalling' something? Just leave it there, its not hurting anything.
Not being able to uninstall the software is why Micro$oft is in court right now.

Actually you can uninstall WMP 9. I got this from somewhere else here so thanks to
him for this method.
Just type this into the run cmd box found in the start menu:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\WINNT\INF\wmp.inf,Uninstall
That should be the directory, alter it to point to your Windows directory. After
typing that in it will uninstall.
This method doesn't actually "uninstall" WMP. It only "hides" it from your computer. Files that were associated with the program will no longer open with WMP, but there are still WMP components installed.
