Ok so next month I'm thinking of going with astraweb. Using this link http://www.news.astraweb.com/special...gufplhxfr2cwsw it seems I can get it for $96 a year which is basically the same as usenetnow.com( who I was going to get. )Astrawebs is much better that usenetnow right?

I think you are confusing UsenetNow.net with UsenetServer.com - they are completely different.
If I had to choose between Astraweb and UsenetServer(Highwinds), I personally would pick Astraweb -- hands down -- because Astraweb has a lot of posts that are missing from Usenetserver/Highwinds (resulting either from copyright takedowns or failed hard drives). I can get faster speeds using fewer connections to Astraweb's US server compared to Highwind's, but that's predictable since I'm a short distance from Astraweb's California server.
I strongly suggest trying Astraweb for a month first before committing to a yearly account. Astraweb is $11/month (@ news.astraweb.com/specials/kleverig-11.html) - a dollar more than UsenetServer's and Newshosting's monthly [special] price but I think well worth that trivial price difference.
UsenetNow.net is a Readnews reseller (as is Ngroups.net) that compares similarly to Astraweb in completion, and also offers a special of $10.xx/month or $96/year or $48/6months. Last year's occasional speed problems on old files appear to have been fixed. The owner hangs out on DSLreports forum, and a lot of users reportedly give the service high marks.
