Nope it ain't, not for me in any case. I'm a member at some Belgian/Dutch Usenet communities where these 'free'-solutions are posted rather frequently.
But I have to admit that the ipv6-thingy is the best 'free'-trick out there. It's just sad that xsnews stopped taking new test-accounts for ipv6-users.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
Although not free but at 5 bucks or 60 a year frugal usenet may be something to check out. At least it would save headaches on trying to track one down all the time.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
I donīt care with the speed. Is there any free server, ipv6 or not, with a huge retention?
I already checked binload.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
Doesn't the ipv6 trick reduce your downlolad speed because of tunneling ?
I've tried gogonet and i'm getting only 300kb/s max , whereas with torrents i get 2mb/s
Re: looking for a good usenet server
No it doesn't, at least not with my ipv6-tunnel.
Most freeservers at this time are dead. I still get between 3-4 MB/s with ipv6 and binload.
No complaints here. But as already mentioned xsnews has stopped taking test accounts, so if you didn't already had an account the ipv6 boat has sailed, since xsnews is the best. Newszilla ain't as good as xsnews by far.

The tunnel is merely for routing IPs, protocol negotiation. The download chunk itself is not routed via their servers. Now, you may experience slow downs due to high network latency, which gogonet was known for.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
I already have xsnews account , but gogonet amsterdam server is not good enough . I get low speeds .
What are the other alternatives for ipv4-to-ipv6 tunneling ?

Re: looking for a good usenet server
Thanks for your suggestion cabalo , i've already tried that , i wish there was some kind of software to use the tunnel instead of messing with the command line each time i restart my router.
Because my ip is dynamic , i have to do the same procedure each time . Anyways i will try again to register to sixxs , hopefully this time they will accept me . I was rejected because i didn't put my middle name , it sucks .
Btw binload is a great great service , i get great speeds , about 1,9 mb/s max , and it's free and i hope it stays that way for a very long time .
