Kazaa Lite is full of fake files, and it takes a while for the real stuff to hit K-Lite. IRC has no fake files, and the new stuff gets to IRC very fast. K-Lite may be easier to use, but IRC is much better.

IRC, last I looked, limits downloads to 1 source at a time, has no error checking/correction beyond what's built-into TCP/IP (or does it have a simple crc32 as well?), and irc's default ip port (6667) has become the favorite ip port for trojan-viruses that generate spam and DDoS attacks.
However, many very fast connections use IRC... which can make up for ALL the above and then some!
