Ahhh we could get into a very long debate here, about American 'freedoms' and in particular your two party system and the fact that only lobby groups with a large amount of cash and support hold any real sway on government policy, suffice to say, I know of nowhere else in the world where domestic freemdoms have been so dramatically curbed by foreign insurgency, as in the U.S. in the last twelve years.
