Microsoft is basically finished. In 10 years time they'll be like IBM. Who? Exactly.

You are on the money there. Don`t think they`ll ever die totally but going to be a lot a restructures to push everything into that magic cloud that everyone loves so much. On the corp side should interesting
IBM are still ticking over (although OS/2 was total poo and their PC models were crap.... but then so was the competition back then... Elonex rings a bell).

You must provide reasons though. For example, do you think Windows can start from the middle to handle the high speed of all those phone megabytes?
By the way, what is IBM up to these days? I lost track of them after they sold off their manufacturing platform to Lenovo, and I kind of recall them indicating that they're narrowing their focus. Was it to focus on more IBme time?

IBM is still a huge company world wide :D out of the hardware business(no money in it) and mainly in the software/code contracts etc... and there profits are huge considering they outsource most of the work, and just attach there name to it:yup:
No tag day for IBM:yup:

Wait, I wasn't expecting people to jump on the Sledge-O-Matic bandwagon with this.
Microsoft = Windows, XBOX, Bing, Office (in no particular order). The death of Microsoft sounds like wishful thinking here.
Re: You think you're all smart computer people? I've got news for you geeks
Windows is becoming less necessary all the time. Chromebook was setup in minutes- with all my bookmarks, chrome extensions, passwords, etc.
XBOX is probably a solid platform, as long as they don't dump known defective hardware on the public again...
Bing
Orifice has worked its way into being a business staple. I'm fed up trying to learn where they put their shit each year when they come out with a new version. I know I'm not alone. A friend was nearly in a crying rage after attempting to print an envelope a couple days ago. I searched google (not bing) for the answer. Still, it shouldn't take a search engine to find out how to print an envelope. It took 4 (easy) steps to do it...Still hidden.
Fuck Micro$oft. Jumping ship feels pretty damn good, tbh.

Complaints about windows?
I can absolutely get on board with that. The reason to use it is hardly that it's the apex of operating systems. It's the third party software you can run on it.
Praising OSX as a better alternative?
Hahaha. Good one.

Google. Only slightly more megalomaniacal than Microsoft.

I once read that Bing is better for searching porn, but I don't know if that claim is valid. If it is, that's pretty significant because the Internet is essentially a place for porn.
I have desperately tried to permanently adopt alternatives to Office, but they all suck in comparison. Office annoys the fuck out of me too, but it sucks less than the alternatives.

Not quite. I started it to highlight the very silly statement made by a hack comedian several years ago who was trying to explain why Microsoft will be dead by 2020. Then, everyone started affirming that Microsoft will be dead. I had to do a double take because I didn't expect this thread to turn serious or anything.
Everyone,
What the hell is the matter with you?
