If I had to pick the quintessential Canadian actor it would probably be Gordon Pinsent. For author it would be a toss up between Farley Mowat and Pierre Burton. Margaret Atwood is both more well known and more successful but her books don't speak to the soul of the country. There's also Lucy Maud Montgomery but that's kind of ancient history. For music , Lightfoot is probably the best representation of the country he's from. For athletics, Gretzky is too Americanized so Gordie Howe or Bobby Orr. Anne Murray is at best only minorly talented Murray's success is mostly based on her being bland yet personable. Sort of like Jimmy Fallon if Jimmy Fallon didn't make me sick or conversely if I wanted to punch Anne Murray in the face.Quote:
