You think I was dissing him? Or his hardware?
I don't.
I'm sure that XP can be run on just about anything.
The question is why?
Mightn't 2000Pro be more suitable and run faster?
the only helpful thing, in all these replies.Quote:

c'mon.
let's aim for efficiency in problem resolution.

I disagree.
My suggestion will solve his immediate problem not the root cause.
But this is probably a SoftwareWorld question anyway.
It can also be solved with hardware like by adding more RAM.Quote:

but this type of thing always happens here (& swworld too)
someone asks a question:
question: how can I make all my folders a slightly darker shade of bright orange?
reply1: you use folders? you should just save everything to your desktop, it's easier to find.
reply2: what type of monitor do you have? does your living room have sufficient lighting as to not cause eye strain? if not, you should reinstall windows.
reply3: you should make them blue instead, then they'll match the color of your taskbar. Windows XP r0x0rz ur b0x0rz!
reply4: no, linux is better. quack, quack.
reply4: go to start > control panel > fuck about with colors > check the box that says "make all my folders some wild-ass color" > bright orange.
Oh oh.
Are you dissing his older system now, too?
Tsk, Tsk.
