The Athlon 64-FX requires registered DDR RAM. I got 2GB because with more RAM you nearly always see an improvement. Plus, I had a choice. 1GB extra RAM or a DVD RW.

EDIT: The only problem is a clicky hard drive. But then again, who cares when you got 7.1 speakers...

The subwoofer rules. Bang up the bass and you can feel the air coming through it.

EDIT2: @VB: I&#39;m running Windows XP Pro right now. I&#39;ll get hold of a copy of the 64-bit windows XP when it comes out.

I think I&#39;ll manage, I really can&#39;t be bothered repackaging it and sending it back. I&#39;ll get used to it, or get my 7.1s to blare it out :P

What benchmarks you want me to run then?

the cpu and memory benchmarks in sisoft sandra

and the common ones like 3d mark 01 and 3d mark 03 would be nice... :)

Aquamark 3 and SiSoft Sandra on their way soon. The AIDA 32 benchmarks (memory read/write) came out as read just a few MB below the 64-FX they had posted which may be because I had a couple of background apps running, but the write came out as quite a bit higher.
