I use Uleads Photo Impact 8....not for beginners though. I just installed PhotoSuite by roxio and believe it is what you are looking for....simple interface, ease of use, and still maintains good editing protocols.
Went back to Ulead though.
Also you might want to try Uleads photo express as your first choice!!
I have several friends that are novice users and this is their preference.
cheers,
Steve

You don't want to use Photoshop 7. It silently registers back to Adobe. Tracking-like.
i use it, and i don't see anything wrong with it...
but if you're really paranoid, you can always block it with a firewall...
Thanks peebs for all your advice, spoilt for choice are'nt I. ;)
Bloody amazing though, I've just discovered Microsoft Photodraw which comes bundled with Office 2000, and it looks pretty dam good with a nice tutorial. Its only been on my PC for the past 2 years, what a twat.
The two photo editing software I use is
Corel Draw Paint 11 and Photoshop 7
both available at Kazaa
Corel Paint Draw 11 If your new to Photo stuff
