My PC is on a table with a cupboard above it. The two front speakers are in the cupboard. The monitor and tower are monitor on the left tower on the right, Sub in the middle with the centre speaker on top. The side speakers go one on the left of my monitor, one on the mantle-piece above the fireplace on the right of my tower. The two rear speakers are placed on the TV behind me.

hmm ic, i wouldnt want so many infront of me though because teh back ones are always to far away and too quiet, i guess id have 2 on my tv and 2 on my night stand on the right of my bad which is to the right of the computer.
I can hear the back ones easy, software that came with my Audigy 2 ZS allows me to change the amount of sound coming from front and back respectively, and crap like that. The PC is going to get a dedicated room soon (:P), so I'll be able to fine tune.
my soundcard only has 2channel output so i am using a splitter to get teh sound to all of the speakers. I cant use software to change the volume because all of my speakers willl change at once. all that will change once my room in teh basement is finished :)Quote:

it takes up half of my basement, and me and my dad are building speakers into the wall. Were taking woofers and putting them around the bottoms of the wall and tweeters up higher and all of the speakers will hook up at a few jacks on the wall where i will hook up a stereo which will finally hook up to my computer. but i gotta get a new soundcard and a better stereo... its gonna be sweet, were sound proofing it and so far all we have done is the veiling and you cant hear anthing upstairs :)
my old speakers will go to my sister.
Try this set .I had a set of these and they work awesome.I know they say they are only 40 watts but trust me they sound more like 100 watts easy.The sub sound incredible and the satellites work awesome too.The only reason I got rid of mine is because I planned on getting a better set but have yet to come up with the cash.
what about these. I listed them before...70watts. Would they be any good you think?

My advice is to try your best to get 5.1s. 5.1s are the standard for movies and surround sound these days.
What about the Z540s there 4.1...they got good reviews too look nice.
I dont want to spend to much...cuz I live with my parents of course and they wont let me turn it up loud enough to use all the speakers haha...i usually use headphones.
