I suppose it's simply that £17.11 for a Lexmark compatible cart. doesn't compare too well with £3.97 for an almost equivalent chipped epson compatible cart.Quote:

The problem is that Lexmark actually use HP carts with their own branding. And because HP defend their patent so vigorously what you see as compatible carts are actually refurbished/refilled HP carts. They probably have to pay a royalty to HP even on those.
