My reasoning is simple.
Scottish (Not scotch, that word is just a bad joke) Single Malt is the only true whisky, anything else is just kidding itself on.
Hence, whisky doesn't have an E in it.
At a more literal level "whisky doesn't have an 'e' in it" is undeniably true. There is no 'e' in 'whisky'. Whether there is an 'e' in 'whiskey' is neither here nor there :P
