I&#39;m simply saying that you can get faster speeds, better newsgroup support and better customer service for a lower price with Pipex

Gio Internet is an alternative - a "wires-free" service, £18.99/month.

I&#39;ve never heard of Pipex or Gio Internet, but i&#39;ve been looking on their websites, and it seems like a good deal to me.

Is anyone currently using them? If so what packages and how has it worked out for you? Are they reliable and no extra charges that are not obvious from the sites?

Well, I&#39;m on Pipex solo 500 and I couldn&#39;t recommend it more, to be honest with you. It&#39;s got 12 free mailboxes, 50MB of free webspace, &#39;unlimited bandwidth&#39; (I usually download about 100GB per month, upload about 30GB or so) and haven&#39;t had a letter so far. Very, very good binary newsgroups (~36000 groups). Only had about an hour of downtime since I&#39;ve been with them

Yeah it was the solo 500 that i was looking at the most, feeling that unlimited bandwidth is worth £4 a month.

Do you kn ow are they a company that monitor a lot of the files being uploaded and downloaded if someone has a lot of bandwidth use as I know some companies do.

What are binary newsgroups?

Actually, there&#39;s a lot of meaningless crap and half truths on Isp Review, but of course that couldn&#39;t be anything to do with the fact that it is largely paid for by adverts for ISP&#39;s.

If you want true impartial advice try adslguide, but some providers who are only resellers don&#39;t get on their listings.

Vispa looks a little expensive for anything more than the standard 512kbps connection, £38.99 for 1 Mbps, and Zen isn&#39;t too much better at £34 per month.

I&#39;m thinking of going for Central Point, at £26.99/month for 1 Mbps, as soon as my 12 months with BT are up (in about 2 weeks).
