This type of crime is far too common in the UK so the credit industry have set up a database logging all fruadlent use of identity. My details are now logged with their database (cypher I think its called) meaning that if someone pulls the same shit again it can be checked against the database and reffered back to me for verification. Its gonna be a pain in the arse if I do need finance but its worth the protection.
