If he thinks 98 is more secure than XP, can we assume his security business went bust?
Re: Athlon 64 On Windows 98
I had a customer the other day who said "I regret the day I upgraded TO Windows 98!".
When he brought his machine in I could see why.
A mint condition Gateway G6-333.
With XP crammed on it. :frusty:
Had some problems trying to get Comcast cable to work.
What a surprise.
We see a whole group of people who refuse to upgrade their machines ("Why should I? It still works!"), but want to bitch and moan that new apps and technologies (try installing digital camera software on a POS like that...) won't work.
Many are somewhat pissed when I tell them that my video card has more RAM and processing power than their whole machine.
Time to get with the program, folks.
Re: Athlon 64 On Windows 98
I was using Win98 not long ago as my main OS (Not by choice, long boring story) and even though I had AVG and Zone Alarm running there were still some pesky little buggers getting in, It took High Jack This and almost hourly scans to stay safe :ermm: After a month or so I got sick of it and upgraded to Suse 9.1 which was a huge improvement. But this was all on a very old machine and not by choice, those who do have the choice of XP (or even 2000) and remain with 98 need to look at them selves in a mirror, and then take down that mirror and sell it on ebay for some cash to buy XP with :ermm:
