Lexmark is teh suck, Epsom printers work out cheapest provided you buy a million refill cartridges in one go.

the ink cartridges that come with new printers are probably half full (empty?) too

Yeah they are almost empty. Teh missus bought me a 'bargain' Lexmark fax/copier/printer/feck knows what else from PC world as a surprise. It cost £80. The ink cartridges included printed out half a photo before they were totally empty.

Replacements are £29 :mellow:
