You know what bugs me?...........I think I agree :frusty:
I know what I mean but I can't think of how to put it so I'll conceed this one, logically a car will out corner a bike of the same standard.
Dammit.
Still more fun tho :P
Jonno
seriously though. a bike doesn't have to corner as tight
No thats true, a bike has more room to play with, but I think realistically speaking you have more chance of making a corner in a car if you hit it too fast than on a bike.
Also when wet bikes are a nightmare.
Hate to admit that but it's logically correct, I would like to see a test tho, of a car and bike of equal standings and respect in their respective catagory.
Push the limit with a driver and rider of same skill, hit a 45 degree corner as fast as you can.
Cool :01:
Jonno
too many variables :snooty:
saying a car handles better on corners is like saying you know what christians believe in, or something
the only thing which stops me from getting a bike is the need to transport stuff
how come they never made an attachment with wheels behind the bike to put stuff in?
(ive only seen the side wagon, or motorcycle-taxis in pakistan)
It's been done, often. With a decent car and a top quality bike.Quote:

You can have a trailer on a bike.
In the uk your trailer has to be to legal standard and your fixtures to the bike are included in your mot.
Your insurance would be slightly higher too, but you can do it :)
Jonno
I don't deny that, but I have to take your word for it, I meant I would like to see a test.Quote:

lmfao So even tho we agree we are going to argue anyway........cool, I always did like you JP
Jonno
i think there's more to it than just traction though http://moderation.invisionzone.com/s...fault/dabs.gif
well obviously it's all about traction, but weight and the fact that a bike doesn't need to turn as tight are major factors
anyone see fifth gear when they put bike against car? i don't think i ever saw how it turned out
No argument mate, I'm right. :naughty:Quote:

One reason behind traction control is because cars can't handle corners properly.
And as for road contact... bs it doesn't matter how much road "contact" you have, in fact in a car its negative to control.
Google newtons law, the GSCE level should just about explain it.

Which of Newton's Laws are you referring to.
Did you google?
You do know how forces interact with forces, and how energy can only be transferred right?
i checked the fifth gear website for stuff about when they pitted a car against a bike. i couldn't find a report on it, but they do have a list of results of every test they've done.
the list shows only one of many cars has ever beaten the ducati (bike)
a car that's 30mph faster than the bike but only beat it by 0.43 seconds
No I didn't "google", why would I.Quote:

you have to click on "this week"
http://www.angleseycircuit.com/circuit.htm
Yes I can see the link and the "this week" but I can't actually see what the test was.
If it was, how fast can you get round that circuit, then I have to agree. Car > Bike.
well i think that's all it is. unfortunately there's nothing to say how they handle differently through the corners
Well let's be honest, there really aren't that many to speak of on that circuit.Quote:

It's a time trial track, not a driving track.
i could google time trials of other circuits but i don't think i care anymore.
at least we can agree that bikes are more fun
fear my rod
You can't corner without grip, you muppet, and a car clearly has more grip than a bike, because it has more wheels...Quote:

Perhaps it's that you can slow down/speed up faster on a bike than you can in the average car that gives the illusion that you can corner better. Dunno, never really thought about it. Having ridden a bike for a while in my younger years, I can say that they are fun though.
When I was younger, I much preferred sport bikes - sheer speed - if I were ever to get another one now, I'd probably be more inclined to look at a Harley or Indian (if I could ever afford either) for comfort's sake and style. Although my friend Irene just got a YZF 750 and I was drooling over it when she popped in the other day.
Exactly, bikes make up the ground when it calls for quick acceleration, cars make up ground when cornering. Bikes look more dramatic going thro' corners and look as if they are going faster. They must feel as tho' they are going a hell of a lot faster as well.Quote:
