Just went in then, from a free kick.
Bit of a lag I've got here :dabs:
I thought you were rodding me for a minute :P
Btw, not sure about this but if you stream the audio on the interweb, you can pause it til the play catches up and sync them.
I know it works with real player - not quite sure with commentary off the BBC site, however.
John Terry of all people.
I turned the radio off now :P
Own goals FTW :01:
bbc player thing keeps causing my FF to close
Terri just rugby tackled messy in the penalty area - and the ref gave fuck all.
A ladybird landed on Robben's knee while a Barca player looked sideways at the scene - this sent Robben flying to the deck, as you'd expect, and Chelski got a free kick :dabs:
Fantastic goal by Barca.
Robben got his karma tablet :smilie4:
:crying:
fucking Eto'o
Eto'o is just trying to make Robben a better person.
fair is fair, one of us sent off for a fuck all, he was only trying to even it up
Missed it - these past 5 minutes have been hell with teh bufferring.
i'm teh gutted :(
Prolly not as gutted as my mate from work who went up there to watch it mind you
on a side note, I just rediscovered the Punk HC tracker :01:
but didn't find anymore King Prawn stuff :(
Nice getting a ticket in the first place tho'.
Actually .... it's nice still to be in the CL at this stage :(
Tis true, just gutted the arse won last night and we haven't today
1-2 final score. According to the gameplay the score was fair. Chelsea actually made chances at the second half and almost come close to a goal! Instead Motta
scored for them and opend the score!
Then it was Terry's turn to make things even scoring a goal for Barca.
The rest of the game was more or less being controlled by Barca.
Barca was searching for a goal and Eto'o found one with a header after Sylvinio's crossing!
Chelsea was despairetely using counter attacks to surprise Barcelona's defence but the output was poor.
Especially when Robben was substituted by Wright Philips!
Best player for Barca: Leo Messi (maybe)
Best Player(s) for Chelsea: Robben, Paolo Ferreira
Gurdian Angels for Chelsea: TERRY!!! And of course Peter Czech(absolutely great Goal keeper)
The first half and most of the second half the ref was quite harsh to Chelsea players.
Messi goes down is alright then sees the ref and rolls like he's on fire. Both should have been booked for diving.
When Terry rugby tackled Messi you can see Terry doesn't take his eyes off the ball where as Messi looks round at Terry then stops running.
2-1 is very harsh on us and i'd say Barca are favourites now but we can always turn it arround.
Still a foul tho'.Quote:

Still, a fair result at the end of the day.
I can't be arsed reading the whole thread, however I would like to make three points.
1. The pitch was a fucking disgrace.
2. The better team won.
3. Terry jumping on the lad and practically crushing him was a stone wall penalty.
Agree.Quote:

What Messi did rolling on the ground like he was been shot down was too much yes but that wasn't the point and neither the reason why the ref showed the red card! the foul Del Horno did was hard. If he was aiming for the ball why didn't he tackled messi? instead he crushed on him without even to try to deccelarate! I was certain for the red card!
You should complain that Olequer did not received a yellow card where he should in tow cases!
Del Horno miss kicks.
Messi goes down.
Messi looks at ref, no anger or pain on his face.
Messi does 3 rolls to the right and ends up with his face down on the pitch.
Bad challenge but Messi should have been given whatever Del Horno was for his play acting.

Sure, Messi play-acted and probably got Del Horno sent off. People say that play acting is inevitable because of the supremely high stakes in soccer nowadays - I do believe that certain Chelsea players would have done the same thing.Quote:

Chelsea already had the points in the bag and Robben still contrived to get Reina sent off. I cannot see any justification whatsover in that.
Both are ugly incidents which need to be discouraged in an official way (a pink card meaning the diving player stays on the field but is banned for the next 3 games is my favourite) but the one in the Premiership is far worse.
I seriously don't know how Chelsea fans can bemoan Messi's actions.
The pitch did stop Barca's passing to an extent. The fantastic build up to Eto'o's goal could have happened much more often if it wasn't for state of it and Barca would have scored more goals.
Barca are a better team that Chelsea, overall. When Xavi is back, they will be able to match them in a defensive midfield capacity too. Chelsea do have the edge defensively, granted. By that I mean their central defenders. Barca's overlapping wing backs are superior altho' ordinary in a defensive capacity.
In my opinion, after looking at it again this morning, the Terry incident probably should have been an indirect free kick in the pentaly area. Terrry did, indeed, obstruct Messi but there was probably no intent. Added to that Messi had checked his run and was looking for the foul. So, when the obstruction occured, the laws say an indirect free kick should result.
That was not a miss kick peerzy. On the other hand though he may have try to kick the ball. But eventually he didin't and instead he did a dangerous foul. Messi
played an act yes maybe all those rolls where too much but if we consider that Messi was lightly injured just above his knee he could have been in real pain.
And just to add that Del Horno did another dangerous play on Messi when he kicked him on the knee a few minutes earlier! And i don't think that Del Horno misskicked there nor that he thought Messi's knee for a ball!
Anyhow, the ref didn't showed the red card to Del Horno because Messi was rolling on the ground but because of the dangerous foul he did! In order a Direct red card to be given the player that did the foul doesn't necessarily need to kill his opponent in order be sent off. A dangerous play is enough to sent him off.
What you have to be aware of is that if Messi had just jumped up and walked off, Del Horno wouldn't have been send off.
Giggs always does this, for a player that has probably got kicked more than any other in the Premier League over the years, this is no mean feat and proves it can be done to no detriment to your team. If Giggs stays down, you can be 100% sure that he really is injured.
Keane is another and it strikes me that Lampard does a similar thing. There are many more too, from our shores.
I can't think of a single foreign player I can put into that catagory - maybe I don't watch enough continental football, eh.
there is another person that seeks fouls even worse than Messi but i heard no one to complain about. That player would be Deco! Damn i don't like that player!
And yes i'm a Barca fun and i don't like Deco's game and the habit to keep asking
for fouls out of nothing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjlGX...ootball%20dive
^^^ Barca training video. I agree Deco is a really bad diver as well, i remember last years tie he had the ball and Terry put his foot on the ball and Deco just did a swimming dive into the ground, he didn't get the penalty but he didn't get booked either.
 funny video. Its not barca but is a funny one!Quote:

Don't the rules state thjat if you raise your hand to another player you are sent off anyway?Quote:

in the Del Horno incident both players seemed to bottle out of the challenge and just jump at each other instead, they should have both had a yellow and that is that.
Yeah, even if Robben didn't go down Reina would still have been off.
It would either have been:
1 X Yellow Card for the diving scissor kick from behind.
&
1 X Yellow Card for raising hand to Robben.
or
1 X Red Card for raising hand to Robben.
Either way he's off.
Look at the replays again, Del Horno doesn't aim a kick, the way he misses the ball and kicks air susgests he did just miss it. When someone kicks another player they would try and kick them with the top of the boot or the bottem as you can cause the most damage that way. He misses the sidefoot clearence and just runs into Messi. He ends up sidefooting air and basically just can't stop fast enough and runs into Messi, who seems to think to himself that he's on fire and Stops, Drops and Rolls.

The point is not Reina raising his hands, the point is the play acting that followed, It is very unlikely Reina would have got sent off but for the subsequent histrionics. After Robben did that, the ref simply couldn't let it go.
I recently downloaded this match off TB, and just finished seeing it right now. John Terry did a great save one during the match which blew me away. But Samuel Eto's head goal was Sic, this was one hell of soccer or football ( :P ) match that i have seen since the world cup. I'll try and keep up with the upcoming uefa matches, by downloading them. Does anyone know a good torrent site where i can download them?
And can anyone point me to a direct link where it says upcoming matches? i checked uefa.com and i can't find it...
The BBC's website is the best.

All times are British though. Basically it's the knockout stages right now, each is made up of 2 legs. Leg one has been played and leg 2 is set to be played on 7th/8th March (14th March for Inter V Ajax - because both Inter Milan & AC Milan cannot both play at home at the same time). Then there will be a 4 week break (I think?) and then the 1st leg of the next round will start.
Peerzy, how come the NUFC/Chelsea FA Cup match is being played on a Wednesday? Usually cup matches are played over the weekends, and replays are played during the week. Seems a bit strange is all.
