The K Club is a huge part of the European Tour, they play it every week.
Well the weeks they aren't playing The Belfry.

I'm only surprised you didn't say the course was easier than most of the American courses, so that obviously favoured the Europeans :sly:

No I don't know if it's easier. They all play the same course anyway. I'm sure it's not a fucked up course like Winged Foot or changed around to Tiger proof it like they do over here.
I thought the course was used for the European Open every year.:idunno:
When the US Open used Winged Foot recently, Tiger missed his first cut and scores were down.

So you don't know what you're talking about.
There's a first.

Re: Tiger Woods Does It Again
Quote:
Tiger Woods won the WGC American Express Championship for the fifth time in seven attempts, romping to victory by eight strokes at a stormy Grove course.
A closing four-under-par 67 on a day interrupted twice by lightning took Woods to 23-under-par 261, eight shots ahead of Australian Adam Scott (69) and England's Ian Poulter (66).
It was Woods' 12th WGC title and his sixth successive victory in strokeplay events.
This will rate among his easiest as he led from start to finish to collect the $1.3 million first prize and extend his lead on the world rankings even further.
Going into the final round six strokes ahead of Scott, the nearest his opponents got to him was five strokes and Woods led by seven at the turn.
Even his third bogey of the tournament, when he missed a five-footer to save par, after being bunkered before a second suspension for lightning, failed to stop his saunter to victory.
While 'only' a birdie on the 18th spoiled his run, after making eagles there for three successive rounds, Woods never had any serious challenger at the first WGC to be held in Britain.
He is now 109-under-par for his six successive strokeplay wins, which include victories in the British Open and US PGA Championship and two WGCs.
On Wednesday Woods said that the 11 tournament record 'streak' of Byron Nelson, who died on Tuesday, was "probably not possible" in an age of much fiercer competition than Nelson faced in his day.
His latest success, however, leaves Woods still well in the running to challenge Nelson's feat.
PGA Tour wins:
Sam Snead 82 Tiger Woods 54
Wins In A Row:
Byron Nelson 11 Tiger Woods 6

He has had 6 in a row before but I have never seen his game look so good and solid as 06'. Tiger is definently in contention this year. He is #1 in G.I.R., Scoring Average, and the money leader (which doesn't matter).

Good point.

Re: Tiger Woods Does It Again
Well now Tiger has 7 in a row after winning the Buick.
Can he reach 11 to tie with Nelson?

Let us hope.
Provided he does it without steroids. :dabs:

300 is terrific for someone as skinny as Tiger, but I wouldn't say that indicates steroid use.
Hell, I did 375 when I was a pup, and I didn't work out all that much.
I never did steroids, but I always wondered.
Glad I didn't give in; I'm sure I'd be quite dead by now.

Sorry, I wasn't insinuating that he was on 'roids, I was just sayin...
Also, I wouldn't say he was "skinny" by any means. I can't push up 300. :lookaroun

No, I didn't mean to insinuate you thought he was juicin' - it's just a running thing with Busyman.
What I meant was that he has a fairly lithe build; he must be supremely well-conditioned to be as strong as he must be to do 300.
I am a bit broader abeam, myself.

Re: Tiger Woods Does It Again
Well, the streak is over....damnit, damnit all to hell. I was really pulling for Tiger too. Beat by Nick O'Hern in a playoff at the Accenture Match Play Championships. Fucking O'Hern has been a thorn in Tigers ass too may times at the Match Play Championships. Oh well, he just got outplayed this year.
Still would have been great to see him break the record......especially with such a talented, strong and long hitting(J.B. Holmes, Bubba Watson) field of golfers that we have today.
Byron Nelson, your record lives on.....for now!

Yeah that would've been a hard record too break. As many speculate, Tiger cares most about the majors.
