There should be some sort of policy that encourages a sense of community. Every member should be required to upload one of each of the following:

!.favorite music album
2.favorite movie
3. favorite software

This would a much much more true form of interaction between members of the site, rather than separating users into UPLOADERS/DOWNLOADERS or SEEDS/LEECHES.

It's a bit hard to suggest anything without knowing much about the tracker and its goals, but here it goes. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt, of course, since I'm in the dark about SCPs overall plan of action.

* SCP seems to be focusing on scene releases, but it would be nice to allow regular users to upload stuff, even if it's not in the regular torrent section (something like ST's system of user torrents). There's an official SCP endorsed section for 0-day/0-sec releases, with the attribution of uploader status only to a group of trusted seeders/suppliers. Along that section, an "unofficial", non SCP endorsed section where users can upload whatever they want, provided that the content fits the rules.

* Rare DVDrs: those seem to be well covered by Cinematik, unless, of course, we're talking about older mainstream releases (with older being anything older than a year or two) like some suggested. That would be a very interesting and promising niche to cover, if SCP is trying to become something else than just another 0-day (or for that matter 0-sec) tracker. If older movies are to be allowed, it would be great if that applied not only to DVDrs, but also XviD rips. This would definitely work even if the content allowed is scene-only. I can't remember off the top of my head a tracker going for that route, and it could be interesting, provided there's a nice request system (without voting - people just demonstrate interest, maybe pay with upload credit, to be received by the uploader if he/she provides the content).

* I've read a few suggestions on an e-learning section, and I fully endorse the idea. BitMe is currently number one and probably won't be displaced since that's their specialty, but giving room to that kind of material does not hurt. OPP is a great example of a tracker allowing something else than the content they're primarily focused on, and making it work for everyone.

* In ratio related matters, a bonus system could prove interesting if well implemented. Something along the lines of KGs approach would be desirable if SCP ends up allowing user torrents in a separate section, or older scene releases. It would help keeping content seeded, which is the greatest issue on KG, for instance (or Cheggit, if you're looking for an entirely different example).

Anyway, good luck with SCP, no matter the path you guys decide to take with it.

allow users to upload stuff is a must. every scene tracker is the same now. i download one thing from one site and literally upload to five different sites at a time. something needs to set scp apart. a different look would be nice.
no wait times is also a plus.
i would love to see lots of extreme sports videos. (extreme bits doesn't have much)
make up some sort of gimmick (like oink's cute avatar rule) that sets it apart from other sites.

Could you please add a magazine section with subsections for categories such as automotive, computers, health, etc. Trackers usually group magazines with ebooks, & this would set SCP apart. Also as others have suggested there could be a section where users could upload content which may lead to more magazines being scanned & uploaded. Thanks. :)

But seriously, something to help people keep ratios. If everyone has godly connection and everyone is seeding, it will be hard to maintain. I think a cap on how many torrents you can seed AT ONE TIME, say 15?

Some wishes by me:

• Bonus points for users with upload speed.
• Old releases to be included.
• For old releases add BUMP option so good torrents come up again.
• Better GFX layout.I allready have spoken with Scene about it and we made a deal.
• Good preview of torrents like in czone and ArenaBG.
• Lots od Details in torrents description.

yeah, torrent trackers need more scene ebook releases

I don't like the idea of making it a scene tracker.
I think the system OiNK uses is much better. Allowing normal users to upload stuff but they have to stick to strict rules on what they are allowed to upload in order that it is of good quality etc...
Keeping everything scene just stops lots of users from being able to offer anything, and it makes it just like every other site around.

One thing I'd wish is a lot of Xvid movie packs like FTN and SCT christmas stockings.

It's anew Tracker and there is alot of work done atm sothat the tracker will be open this saturday

I can grow to pretty good tracker if they make hard.
Look at SCT, not so old tracker but I kicked everyone's else asses of.
Some strong willl, good community is all what they need.

why would someone in the irc chan give you an invite, the rules have been stated.. and FST already broke them...
invites are only given to uploaders right now, everyone else can either sign up on sat or get an invite after the open sign up

As long as the .sfv's check out and the proper .nfo's and .m3u's/.cue's are included, I would think all ANY & ALL complete older PROPER MUSIC SCENE releases/collections MUST be shared on any new startup tracker! :P

Almost all music scene out there is already 0day only - and even as great of a tracker for music that OiNK is, they are mostly user rips as far as older stuff goes... trying to get any fills for complete older proper music scene releases/collections (even with ViP...) is craziness atm... :wacko:
