Is it already possible to burn own HD content discs and play them on HD players?
If yes which formats are supported by the players?
Theoretically they should be able to read DVD-RW and decode H.264 right?

The file container used for HDRips are mkv and wmv. You can't play them in a HDDVD or BluRay player. I'm not sure if there are any players available in the market that support H.264/x264 mkv format.. I suggest you just play them in your pc and connect a dvi-to-hdmi cable to your HDTV. Problem solved. No need to spend money for a player. :)
Got any sites which don't need an invite but are good sites for dvd rips, just private sites which needs register not invite.
Necrophag,
There are lots. Check out the first level trackers here: http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-bittorrent-invites-90/t-what-trackers-worth-with-reviews-and-ratings-142446
They are the ones easier to get into. For starters, bitsoup would be nice..

are there torrent sites for high-def quality dvd rips?
HDbits and Bit-HDTV have rip of HDDVD and Bluray but 20Go to 35Go the movie be patient.
Boy I sure hope you have one HELL of some bandwidth there to seed them back and keep a good ratio going.
I had a hell of a time trying to seed DVD5 back, let alone 9, yuck....
technically, dvds are not high def, more so are dvd rips. ergo, to answer your question, there's no such thing as "high-def quality dvd rips", so no torrent site carrying them. on the other hand, for high def hddvd or bluray rips, there are plenty. hdbits, bit-hdtv, hdsource, scenehd to name a few.
try funfile.org
newsgroups
cinematik.net is good, and you can use wyldbytes, pisexy, and the dvd club too. Plus check some big 0day private trackers, sometimes they up dvd9s. latstly go to a rent store and check for the dvds that you wasnt able to find online.
hmmm.
tdc or tl or scenehd or hdbits n so on.
do you give away invites in these sites?
I hate to spoil the party here, but better forget about DVD9.
I have been collecting dvdr movies for a long time (8+years). Since HD media is coming up quickly (blu-ray),the big movie companies are degrading their dvd releases intentionally.
They are intentionally releasing retail DVDs with less quality then DVD is really capable of. Just to promote HD media.
Luckily not all companies do this. So most (retail) movies are still enjoyable in full DVD quality.
Second thing i want to point out is that dvd5 movies are just as good in quality as dvd9 if its done right.
Specially scene groups take care of this. A lot of times they rip the main movie untouched to dvd5, by removing the extras for example. Or if it does not fit dvd5 they use professional tools like CCE to compress the movie. The dvd5 releases to avoid are the ones done with one click tools like Clonedvd, that degrade the movie.
All in all in my opinion it's better to move on to HD movies. Just get a HD media player for your HDTV, hook it up to your home network and you are good to go the next couple of years.
Not to mention the quality boost you will be getting with this.
DVD movies don't do a HDTV any justice.
greetz.. Scorpo
dvds are dead nowadays . Blurays are the future , forget about them .
I only download some music shows in dvds which aren't in bluray yet .
I find some from btmusic or planetq
torrents downloads are quite satisfactory
you can try any torrent downloaded file
infact bluray is also available in torrent type downloads
so you should try the torrent for this kind of movies or any other type of download.
