hosting-ie are resellers of keyweb.de they use the same datacenter.
very good service speeds are fast says unmetered but i believe it to be round about 30tb public traffic a month ,100mbit or 200mbit lines .
minimum contract is 3 months they are quite a high set up fee but they are cheaper monthly .
Had one for a year now very happy :)
got it but idk how to setup(fendora) leeware guide doesnt work when i do -y yum xterm wine vnc-server it says command not found
without the yum it says: Need supervisor access or something like that?
if says that why don't you log in as root...
you need to install yum:
http://www.phy.duke.edu/~rgb/General...le/node13.html
i get
warning: yum-2.4.1-1.src.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 69886cc7
error: cannot create %sourcedir /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
i get
warning: yum-2.4.1-1.src.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 69886cc7
error: cannot create %sourcedir /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
make sure you're logged in as root, then enter the following:
Code:mkdir /usr/src/redhat
mkdir /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
then try the rpm command again.
there using fedora core not redhat the commands are slighty different .
Suggest you read a manuel covering fedora commands
asked keyweb and they gave me http://yum.netmirror.eu/redhat/yumrpm/RHES4/
I guess i need to install python first, well when i go to install python-elementtree-1.2.6-4.2.1.i386.rpm it tells me i have failed dependencies! and need python abi 2.3. I googled that and when i install it says failed dependencies but all dependencies are installed!(says installed by each one)
ahhh, it's not that hard, google: RedHat sources.list updated, copy the updated sources.list to the old one, then: yum update or yum check-update... after that: yum search python
Edit: why didn't you ask for Debian? :S
@ haydeno, do post/pm after you've successfully installed utorrent on Keyweb (Fedora), I chose the same distro too as I didnt know which to choose =/
wich one should i buy? the RootDS Start?
I actually had debain and had them put FC on it, how much easier would it be to do debian? Can anyone help me via aim or something to setup python\yum . my aim is hayhayday
if its debian i can help you
Just requested Debian.
Fyi for ppl who signup the rootDS servers(24,90) include Windows which maybe advisable
buying the RootDS Start will work?
nice, Im going to get myself a seedbox :)
Just remember if you get a windows one to limit your open ports to just the ones you need open .
How do you install vncserver on debian? I cant seem to connect to mine, eventhough everything looks correct. Which address do I use? 8x.8xx.xx.xx:1 or kmxxxxx-xx.kxxxxxxx.de:1
I used this guide:
http://heller.huono.org/bin/vnc.html
and to install utorrent/wine i used:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?p=69063
did u setup vnc as :1?
Yes I did
Anyone interrested in splitting on a RootDS box? If so PM me
maxehhh got mine running Torrentflux very well! So far 4MB download and upload urrent Upload: 2,800 kB/s ON ONE FILE
cant go much over 3M(only on cheapest vps) i would recommend getting ROOTDS as the normal VPS doesnt have the power to seed to full potential
So what I can do, run torrentflux only? Is it easy to setup?
yes it's easy
Currenly uploading at 5000kbps(if i dont limit it it goes to 6000 i run out of ram and all errors out)
Fact: FAST AS HELL
Fact2: GET ROOTDS(dont be cheap like me!)

dont forget police after keyweb, and no refund if they catch u. dont tell me that u use public trackers such as torrentspy or isohunt. The speed is really good. I will get 1 keyweb but need to be careful cause with my paypal i have to get 3 month contract. If they see me push over 3Tb/month or they receive letter from riaa or mpaa , my $ gone 4ever . Be careful dude
Average 5MB upladed 100gb in less 6 hours!
tell me if you can do that a full month, i have the feeling they will either cap your upload or move you to a very busy 100mbit link.
Well as long as i keep under 3TB(average 1MB) than its all good so why would they cap. Best so far is U:6300 and D:4000 at same time
WOW! This is to TL

Does anyone have ROOTDS? Can you tell me how many cpu your allowed(cp-resource-edtended-cpuunits under cpu parameters)
is anyone using something besides torrentflux, have premium but 512 ram driving me nuts!
