port 1214 is the port used by the RIAA. you want to disable it.
talking of that: what other port should i put in?? i have 1214 as my incoming connection port.
what port should i change it to (i have 2.1.0 build 3...).
thanks 4 help,
tralalala
If you do this for 15-20 mins up can get pretty close if you get lots of more far away locations like i was but got closer after time
the port i use now is i think 1482 or something.
just make sure you DO NOT use the RIAA port (1214).

I have disabled the port but how do i put a new port number in? There is no option i can see to do so? I have newest k-lite 2.4
Holy shit!... i was wondering how to use kazaasupernodes... this tip works great..
thnx Tralalala!!
no problem knives, enjoy!.
and about the question before: to change a port number, go to kazaa lite options>firewall and at the bottom of the page it will have the port number.
i suggest port number 2464, it works great and is kinda "speedy" should i say also.
tralalala
does the supernode function work for 56 modems as well ?!
every k-lite user needs to connect to a supernode to download stuff.
so the answer to your question is yes, 56k users also can use this great feature.
tralalala
thanks for the tip, i am using dsl and it is working.
cool mate, anytime.
tralalala :)
well done mate
no problemo mate, glad i could help you :)
tralalala
nice one tralalala :D
i hadnt bothered with kazupernodes before, just been jumping nodes when things were going slow, your explanation was nice and straightforward :)
:) cool! glad i could help you with that issue. :)
tralalala
This I know is a silly question to ask but could you please explain how to find the s/n function? Please don't suggest I look in FAQ,s. :rtfaq:
KazuperNodes are built into Version 2.41
Thank's Cosmic I wondered why I could't find it.Iam still running v2.1.0(k++edition) which does'nt include this function. The only thing is as I am having no problems with this version and reluctant to change to a later version which seems to have had teething trouble's. :beerchug: :beerchug:
does using a Supernodes increase download speed or search availability?
it increases search availability thus, more sources = more speed.
@kb123: you can download kazupernodes from here under downloads and use it with version 2.1.0, it works great there aswell.
glad i could help you all,
tralalala
does version 2.1.0 have block banned IP ranges in it's options?
yeah, nice tip. but people got to it along time before you ;) sorry bud
well, as long as it helped you guys! :)
@ihadyourmomlastnight: 2.10 doesnt have blocked IP ranges in it, you need to use peerguardian on that version.
upgrade to 2.4.1 and youll get the blocked IP ranges, its great!!!
tralalala
thanx tralalala hahaha!
i was just wondering. i m running 2.4.1 now but my old version 2.0.2 ran so much smoother and didn't freez at all. i miss it :( but i don't want to sacrifice the security of 2.4.1 im running sygate with all the banned ip ranges put in the special rules (blocks them on all ports). and i have port 1214 disabled or watever the one kazaa uses is. i also update the banned ip ranges list that comes with Kazaa lite 2.4.1 once a week. i wonder if all this is enuff. let me know wat ya thinx! lata!
well, if you want to go back to 2.0.2 then you should make sure you disable port 1214 (by putting in options>k-lite options>firewall> and inserting the port number 2464 instead of 1214), this port (2464) seems to be the best yet, ive done some testing on it.
ohpe this will help you make up your mind :)
tralalala
p.s: ask VB to change your username, its a bit insulting dont you think?
:D Hey Tralalala :D
THANKS-A-MILLION ! ! !
DusterBuster

sorry if the name offends you. it's not meant as an insult. it's actually a joke. some are amused . some arent.

that avatar IS a cat "sniper"... :D
i would be happy if i would be the only one using this avatar...!
but if you really want it, copy it to your computer and then upload it to a hosting site.
tralalala
p.s: glad i could help you and Duster-Buster!!
hahahaa i thought so. nah i wouldn't rip your avatar. that's pretty original.

patollo
as long as you can see the posts, thats what matters.
if you cant see avatars and sigs, go to my controls (located at the top of the screen), then board settings, and make sure that viewing avatars and signatures is "yes".
@ihadyourmomlastnight: lol, its cool. thanks anyway for not using my avatar.
its from an israeli site (which means you probably would be able to read whats on it... :) ).
anyway, glad i could help,
tralalala
when I changed my port number to what u said my downloads shot up...Thx
hey no problem.
lol, a 2 in 1 tip topic!! :)
tralalala
HAHAHA!!! I am sooooo a newb but here we go ... how do you even begin to look for a supernode? or shall i say start the whole process mentioned? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
click on the tools tab>kazupernodes, and then start the process at the beginning of this post from 1-8.
tralalala
Thanks Tralalala! It's working for me. AWESOME! :D

tralalala
I tried this once by myself before, but then, kl couldn't connect to the new sp, so i just restored my sp and forget the thing, but this worked really well, u just have to try it a couple of times...
a better way is connecting to a SN closer to your location (connects faster).
