well if that CRIA keep closeing demonoid again and again what is the point of returning back..we have all see that staff at demonoid are very scary when they recived some note for some institution..well like the rest of as i also love to see he get back,but if this continue and staff of demonoid do nothing sooner or later site will shut down for good.
I,m guessing demonoid can come back as i think they were just warned to take site offline and as for whatcd they doing a code check as i guess someone hacked into part of the site.

Yep. I was a big-time Demonoid user. I'm optimistic they'll be back. Like some people have said, they've been threatened, not arrested.

it was one of the 1st sites out there, but over the past year its just become a joke. The site will only be missed by the newbies.

Sure the speeds weren't all that great, but most of the time there was still plenty of seeders on all of the torrents, plus it had THE MOST diverse selection of content. Name me another site that compiles all that variety into one, because I sure as hell have never found it.Quote:

Each site requires resources and humans to run it, and then on top of that, they need uploaders to populate the browse list.
The sheer effort of keeping such places running should facilitate a little more respect from people who only have an interest in what they can grab, without thought to the people who place it there in the first place.

I don't particularly miss it, but they had an excellent PSXPSP collection. and it wasn't that big of a deal when they blocked Canadian traffic, all you had to do was use a proxy :)

Great, the one private tracker that I use regularly and where I had an excellent ratio... Hopefully the servers will be moved elsewhere and the site re-opened with all the old user data reinstated...

Awwww I got my first copyright infringement letter using Demonoid. Now I am upset.:(
People get a clue. Public trackers albeit have a wide variety of files and seeders, but are definitely not the safest out there.
Thats all you have to do is get into 3 or 4 very good private trackers. Thats all you will ever need.
